Please join us for dinner and the "2017 Healthcare Update" on Thursday, December 14 at Ginopolis Restaurant, Farmington Hills, MI.

 

The presentation will address ACA developments, including the status of proposed legislation and executive orders, ACA reporting requirements for 2017, new regulations for religious and moral objectors to contraceptives and association health plans. We will also cover non-ACA issues, such as the developing law on wellness programs, Mental Health Parity guidance, recent HIPAA enforcement actions, and the potential impact of European Union’s General Data Protection Regulations on HR/benefits departments.

SPEAKER:

Norbert F. Kugele, Partner,
Warner Norcross & Judd LLP

Mr. Kugele is a partner who specializes in employee benefits and privacy and information security law. He frequently speaks at seminars and authors articles on employee benefits and privacy issues, and is a Certified Information Privacy Professional/US with the International Association of Privacy Professionals. Mr. Kugele advises clients on health and welfare benefits and the administration issues that arise, including COBRA, HIPAA and the Affordable Care Act. His expertise also extends to helping clients respond to security breach incidents, developing privacy policies and advising companies on the European Commission’s Directive on Data Protection and cross-border data transfers. Mr. Kugele received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon and his law degree from the University of Illinois, magna cum laude. Ranked among the “Best Lawyers in America” for employee benefits law and consistently named a “Michigan Super Lawyer” since 2010, Mr. Kugele devotes an enormous amount of time educating clients and peers on the complexities of employee benefits and privacy and security law.
